Poetry

On One

Tare tare tare
Tears from the face
I’m sure that's the way
To feel

Make one life into as many
As a prism will allow
That's what pyramids
Enable

It's the opposite of ennobled
If you go the dignified way
Faded greatness
Imperial aftersnow

That's a Chernobyl
It's called fallen out
Our several headed monster
Inside this final drop

Modified Darkness

A fire dark soul and its wishes
Smoke's patina is an image machine
Beaches, mountains, dust

Petrichor sunrise and a coot herd
Ready to make spindly log legs
Into an awkward retreat
|
Ahead of the day and accidental status
Above sees below on the ripple tide
Fear and heated dread

Back to bed cannot be a duck
For when webbed toes go motionless
The effortless swim goes under the lake dark sea
