CoinSpin

They call the way
of media portrayal
‘spin’

Coins spin—
Do you remember a time
when you spun coins on your desk
instead of spinning coins from
vending machines and supermarkets
saying ‘can I get a roll of spin, please?’
so your eyes could spin
as they watch laundry
spun by money

I was on the news once—
The footage they caught
showed a septum piercing
and I was being spun around it
looking into cameras
in every direction they were
spinning the lenses
as an adjustment for image
when I heard someone drop

a coin

Blue Is

Relief is blue
the color blue is
a common favorite
feeling is relief is
bruise-blue it’s
something beaten
in blue you
can find a lot
of emotion;

feeling blue,
i click the blue option
on the screen blasting blue light
into my not-so-blue eyes
because blue is
writing and blue is
reading and blue is
painter’s tape
on amateur art projects
with a tinge of prussian blue pastel
where blue is the wind
because blue is the sky and

blue is
a symbol of hope
a color of pride
