Stable of Poems

Here at this acreage
In my two-bedroom apartment
I have a stable of poems|

This one is cross-eyed and prances sideways
Mince mince mince mince
This one paws the air and screams
This one is flabby and won’t take a bridle

Tack is mismatched
stalls are mucky
But this is what I wanted
A place in the country
