She stabbed her nana’s plate for potatoes,
ate them smiling—
no words, no looks.
This was an accepted event.
The longtime of hugs, kisses,
sleepovers, stories, history
deemed this natural.
Sharing is what families do.
Sharing unites us, as does laughter.
“Do you want some more?”
