our last waltz
waves move in chorus
to a humpback’s song

chintz light
the foliage thickens
between us

warm bread
my body is now
ours

bullrushes
inviting silence
inside

wrinkled tomatoes
my skin succumbs
to your touch

watermelon
the taste you left
on my lips

fresh snow
we sink deeper into
quilted warmth

knotweed
your presence choking
my presence

an alert dog
I touch the aliveness
on your neck

gathering clouds
arching my body
into your hands
