Serenity

The waves kiss the shore
delicately touching
each grain of sand.
The sun paints the sky
in dramatic brushes
of pinks, purples, and blues
hinting at a day well-served.
Gulls chatter above
with warm greetings of
“Good evening.”
“Nice weather.”
“Sleep well.”
Hues of green line
the multicolored tans
exuding serenity
one breath at a time
as wind moves across
their leaves.
In this place
In this time
the heart pauses
the mind reflects
the body relaxes
We are one.
